PC-DMIS NC is an advanced, in-process metrology software package for CNC machines.  It leverages the technology of PC-DMIS so that users can take full advantage of their on-machine probing systems with the sophisticated capabilities of a true metrology system.

It's common to see probes on all sorts of CNC machines in all sorts of applications.  Unfortunately, it's also common to see these probes being under utilized or worse yet, lying idle.  Manufacturers have long recognized the importance of on-machine probing and the theory behind in-process metrology, but have had difficulty implementing it.  Why is this?

The problem is that, until now, on machine probing routines has been hard to program and limited in capability.  To apply effectively the macro routines probe manufacturers bundle with the equipment, the user must understand inspection requirements and NC programming techniques, not a common skill set.  Even with that, many things just can't be done.  With a PC-DMIS NC, these problems are over.

PC-DMIS NC takes full advantage of the high-level technology build into PC-DMIS.  It gives programmers the tools they need to build, test and debug complex measurement sequences quickly.  Similar to CAM, most of this work is off-line.  So, program development has little impact on manufacturing.
